In addition to multi-GNSS support, the GPSMAP 66 series offers ABC sensor capabilities (altimeter, barometer and compass) to record your journey. The built-in altimeter provides altitude data to accurately track ascent and descent, while the barometer is used to predict weather changes by showing short-term trends in air pressure. The three-axis electronic compass maintains your bearing whether you’re on the move or not.

See your direction

Get a better view of your location with high-resolution photorealistic visualisations of your course, thanks to BirdsEye satellite imaging downloads directly to the device – no annual subscription required. You’ll see a realistic visualization of your surroundings to find trails and camping glades, pick hunting spots, find parks and geocaching sites, and even create landmark-based points of interest.

Stay tuned to the weather conditions

You’ll always be up to date with the weather when you connect your GPSMAP 66 series device via Bluetooth® to a compatible smartphone. Receive Active Weather updates for real-time forecast information, including forecast maps for temperature, wind and clouds. It also provides live weather radar so you can be alerted to adverse weather conditions that may affect your outdoor activities.

Explore with Garmin

Even if you’re offline and have no mobile signal, the GPSMAP 66 Series connects to the Garmin Explore mobile app that lets you plan, review and sync data, including points of interest, routes and courses. Plus, you can review completed activities while you’re outdoors, even when you’re off the grid. When you return home, plan your next outings and view past activities from the Garmin Explore website.

Useful in adverse conditions

Get ready for adventures. The GPSMAP 66 Series offers up to 16 hours of battery life in normal GPS mode and one week in Expedition mode (with two AA batteries). It features an LED flashlight and SOS beacon to signal for help in an emergency. It is built to military standards for protection against shock, water and extreme temperatures (MIL-STD-810G) and is compatible with night vision goggles.

Find your own cache

The GPSMAP 66s and GPSMAP 66st make the geocaching experience easier than ever. Set the device to automatically update with all the latest caches from Geocaching Live, including cache descriptions, logs and hints. With a Wi-Fi® connection or via Garmin Connect™ on a compatible smartphone, you’ll avoid manually entering coordinates or printing out cache details on paper – and every find will be automatically uploaded to your Geocaching.com profile.
